Are You “Ridiculously Likable?”

What does it take to be successful in the nonprofit community. Or life for that matter?

We’re loving this blog post on LinkedIn from Dr. Travis Bradbury called “11 Habits of Ridiculously Likeable People.” According to Dr. Bradbury, coauthor EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE 2.0 and President at TalentSmart, “being likeable is under your control, and it’s a matter of emotional intelligence. Unlike innate, fixed characteristics, such as your intelligence (IQ), EQ is a flexible skill that you can improve with effort.”

Dr. Bradbury suggests that likeable people:

  • are genuine
  • ask thoughtful questions
  • don’t pass judgement
  • don’t seek attention
  • are consistent
  • use positive body language
  • leave a strong first impression
  • greet people by name
  • smile
  • know who to touch (and they touch them)
  • balance passion and fun

What do you think? Are you likeable?
